Female liberation spanning 150 years.
The road for equal rights between the sexes is a long one, and is one that is less traveled. When award winning film maker Mette Knudsen set out to create one of her most ambitious pieces yet, document the liberation fight from 1870 till 2015, i was asked to create the identity and direct 30 small films to place as breakers In the film helping navigation between the different time periods.
We both set out to create a massive display of creative looks to document the different time periods of the film (spanning over 150 years) but at the same time give them a cohesive look. We used everything from stop motion, animation, 3D to live action to create a vast array of ideas that set the tone for the film and helped brand the film as a fresh take on the liberation fight, fitting for modern day audiences.
The film ran both as a 3 part series on television and as a cohesive film in cinemas. The reception from both critics and audiences were extremely positive. It has since been shown in China and selected places in Europe. The film was nominated as best documentary at the annual danish Bodil Awards 2017
