The Poligraph

An A.I. lie detector on Trump.

Challenge

The first 100 days of presidency is where you measure the future success of a president. With Donald Trump being almost known for lying how can you trust anything he’s saying about his own achievements in this period? Fact checkers across the board were hard at work, writing long articles but the average person had a difficult time keeping up with the lies. Gathering a overall perspective was impossible due to the immense amount of statements and content Trump was pushing. There was a need for a more simple solution

IDEA

We created a website called the Poli-Graph, that hooks president Donald Trump up to an online lie detector, throughout his first 100 days in office.  Every false claim was detected and automatically posted to our site using a built AI the moment it is posted on the web. Facts are pulled from the most reliable news sites in real time such as associated press, the Washington post & the New York Times. The site is made to look like an actual lie detector with a needle drawing a graph every time a new false statement is detected. Each lie was clickable and took you to the original article in a new tab. Trumps nose grows with each lie detected, giving an easy indicator of how many lies are posted.

IMPACT

The site went on to get various news exposure and was featured and won on FWA and AWWWARDS.
We had over 200.000 visitors on the site during Trumps first 100 days, each spending approximately 5 minutes on the site. 2 out of 3 visitors returned to the site to keep updated on Trumps lies. By creating the Trump Lie Detector, we created a humorous way to get a overview and understanding of a serious issue.
